I took half a pair of the 3 season Grisport Ultratrek socks out for a spin on the still snowy slopes of Helvellyn last night to test them... on the other foot I wore half of my favourite pair of Bridgedale socks. This was going to be a head to head fight!

After the hot slog up from Thirlmere to the summit all seemed well with the feet, no excessive sweat build up and a cosy temperature was maintained as temperature and energy output dropped on the rolling decent.

I’m very pleased to say that with a few cosmetic details aside, the Grisport mens socks matched the Bridgedale socks for comfort, fit and performance all the way; in anything the Grisport Ultratrek was even slightly ahead on comfort due to the incredible soft knitted cuff it features. This is good going as the Grisport socks are almost half the price!

Don’t just take my word for it, give a pair a try yourself and if you are passing us in Ambleside, come in and try a pair with some Grisport Boots before you buy – you won’t be disappointed.
