a bit of brightness to my otherwise drab looking kit !

The Mountain King Trail Blaze poles certainly look and feel extremely well made pieces of kit. The easy slide on fit between joints seem to have been made to fairly exact tolerances thereby producing no wobble when in use. They may be only 115g a piece but they feel solid as a rock despite their weight. When assembling you have to pull the internal cord from out the top of the pole till you come to a knot which is then locked into place via a groove above the handle. You have to pull it fairly tight but this in turn produces a steadfast pole. I bought the magenta ones. A fine colour, they bring a bit of brightness to my otherwise drab looking kit! an excellent product!

I�m proclaiming them a great success. As a part-time pole user I think they�ll see far more action than any of my more traditional poles - all of them are very good in their way but the Trail Blazes are strong enough, good enough, and simply so much smaller and lighter when they on my back rather than in my hands...

Mountain King Trail Blaze Poles, uncompromising 4 section ultra light pole for fast-packing minimalists. This 110g wand is lighter than expensive carbon models and outperforms comparable products on the market in our field testing for their intended use. The sections are secured with perlon cord (like an avalanche probe) and pull apart to collapse to a neat 38cm.

All Mountain King poles feature ergonomic grips for all day comfort and are manufactured in England from high grade, 7075 aluminium; the same 7075 alloy as the Expedition poles in the range but the diameter of the poles is reduced to minimise weight without compromising usable strength. The tips are all replaceable and feature extremely durable, tungsten carbide tips.

Choosing the right length for you: Holding your elbow at right angles and your lower arm parallel to the ground, measure from the top of your fist to the ground. Or grip the tape measure in your fist at 110 and 120cm heights, appraise which suits you best for your height. Aim for a comfortable 90degree plus angle at your elbow.
