Boot's Blog - Wild Swimming in the Autumn October 2011

We've all had an amazing season of outdoor swimming in our lakes and rivers this year. From lonely, chilly wild swimming in the high tarns in early spring to helping out during the mayhem of the Great North Swim (please join my campaign "Dogs Swim Too" and fight for canine participation in the Great North Swim Series:).

I've made some more good wild swimming friends in Cumbria and the North East, and have enjoyed some stunning open water swimming in the finest water and the best locations in England.

There is no mistaking the autumn winds blowing sticks into Ambleside, but we're still happy to swim as long as there is light. Although I'm quite happy in black fur the rest of the pack are turning to neoprene socks and swim hats to take the edge off, essential open water swimming equipment for the months ahead Let’s see if the humans can keep the doggy paddle up throughout the winter months, even with snow forecast for the end of the month ( bol).
