Boot’s Blog April 2011 – Running the Northumberland Coastal PathJust back from running the Northumberland Coastal path with the humans; we’ve made it from the Border above Berwick to Craster so far, using the great bus services that link each section... I’ve been licking sand off my paws ever since! We had beautiful sunny days with high winds and the big skies that make this part of the world so special. We made about 15 miles each day despite the wind with just light OMM packs filled with the essentials (dog biscuits and Icepeak Magna Jackets for rest stops). We chased deer along the remote shoreline, passed fields of feeding curlews and swam with a small colony of seals sheltering from the wind in a little bay beyond Holy Island – what a great run!
Andrea used the OMM Classic Marathon 25 and the Icepeak Magna lightweight insulated jacket. Pete used the OMM Classic Marathon 32 and the Icepeak Moss soft-shell jacket. |
