Boots blog – British Summer Time
The daffs are out, but there is no fooling the bluebells! BST came in on the back of a snowstorm and the view from the shop looks like the Alps again. Good news for late season winter walkers (we had to bring the hire crampons and ice-axes out of storage!), and low level walkers exploring new routes along the valleys, taking in the more sheltered woodland and lake shore walks. Exciting new additions to the Head to the Hills range include the hot from the factory Speed-Lock Trekking Poles from Leki. The 3 new poles we have feature the long awaited external locking mechanism from Leki, making it easier to adjust pole length with thick gloves on. Read more on the new Leki Speed Lock trekking poles here. A new staff fave is the Deuter SpeedLite 10 backpack, superlight at only 300g and just enough room for packable hill kit and water bottle (plus doggie treats!); this is the ideal multi-sport pack. Perfect for hiking, running and biking.
We hope you like the new additions, and look forward to seeing you enjoying yourselves out on the hill. Summer really is around the corner and we have an extra hour of daylight to play with – get out and make the most of it.
See you on the fell.
