New additions to our Leki Trekking Pole range: Leki Speed-Lock Trekking Poles

Easy, simple, fast...The long awaited Speed Lock range of Leki trekking poles has finally arrived at Head to the Hills. We have added 3 of the best styles from the range in answer to the requests of many of our customers:

• Sherpa XL – A true, tough, expedition pole. This pole will last a lifetime.
• Thermolite XL – A lightweight Sherpa, for weight-conscious fast-packers.
• Wanderfreund Speed – The alpenstock of the future, compact and versatile walking pole.

With our extremely variable and increasingly extreme climate, we wanted a trekking pole that was safe and easy to use while wearing thick gloves and getting buffeted by gale force winds on the summit of Scafell Pike. The new Speed-Lock system from Leki was our number one choice, providing the simplest and most secure locking mechanism available.

All of these poles are really built to last with Leki’s best quality 7075 alloy (tempered to a hardness of 6.5 – no-one else does this, making it the best in the industry). This makes them ideal for the rough and tumble of British hill walking and mountaineering. When you rely on your outdoor gear for your safety, features like this really matter.

All of the Leki poles in this range are non-antishock for improved feel and direct power transfer, and both the Leki Sherpa and the Thermolite have an extended handle for varying grip options when traversing steep ground.

The Wanderfreund Speed has a great new handle ideal for a wide variety of situations where out and out support is more important than using the poles for propulsion.
